• Until yesterday I didn’t have any problem with the RSS-entries feed on my site. But today I noticed that this isn’t working anymore. My feedreader cannot discover any feeds. However, the comments-rss still works, as does the category-rss.
    I’ve tried getting the feed back by disabling all my plugins and clearing the cache. But even then there is no feed.

    Has anyone other suggestions?

  • I’m adding a “modlook” tag so the mods can fix the funky html error in your comment.

    But sorry, no suggestions.

    Fixed the original link.

    I’m not sure if I understand the problem. Might need a post with more details. I see a feed at the blog you gave a link for.

    @adam: Thanks.

    @handysolo: I see the RSS-icon in the address bar of my browser as well. But when I add the feed to my feedreader, and try to read my blog through that same feedreader, it says that there is an XML parse error.

    Alas, I can’t replicate it. I subscribed via Google Reader and saw no errors.

    What reader are you using?

    You have some plugins that impact your feed — have you tried viewing it with them disabled to see if they’re causing your problem?

    @handysolo: I’m also trying to read my feed through Google Reader. But the feed that shows up there is an old feed (a few items are deleted or I changed them back to Concept) and the number of comments I have on some posts doesn’t match the actual number of comments.
    Normally I use Sage (a Firefox plugin) for reading my feeds. When I try to do that now, I get a message that says that there’s an XML parse error.
    If I open the link to my feed (https://www.cellojaren.nl/feed) in my browser, I only get the header. As I said in my first post: even when I disable all my plugins and clear all caches, the error still exists.

    Ok, I looked closer. I also noticed (again) that getting your feed sure takes a long time (thus my earlier musings about plugins).

    Check this timeout error from your feed:

    Maximum execution time of 15 seconds exceeded in <b>/home/cellojar/domains/cellojaren.nl/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/jLanguage/jLanguage2.2.php</b> on line <b>305</b>

    So… what’s that plugin doing and can we disable it for some more testing?

    Meanwhile, anything showing up in your web server’s error logs that might be helpful?

    jLanguage is a plugin for multilanguage blogging. I had that same error a few days ago, but then it was a problem with the more-tag. I had stripped ‘Read more’ from index.php of the theme. After I added ‘…’ to that file, the problem was, or better seemed to be solved.

    Lines 301-305 of jLanguage.php say:

    $position = strpos($text, '<!--more-->');
    			$noteaser = strpos($text, '<!--noteaser-->');
    			if (!$multipage && !is_single() && $position) {
    				$tmp = strlen($orginalText) -5;
    				while($orginalText[$tmp]!='<')

    I don’t know exactly how to read the error logs. When I go to phpMyAdmin, I see that there are quite a few failed and stopped tries to connect to my site. But I don’t know how I have to interpret that.
