I installed the Goodreviews plugin on two of my sites yesterday and my ISP immediately shut them down for security reasons because of excessive hits on one of the security rules: a referrer was not being set when attempting to login, which makes it look like a spambot is attacking the sites. Because I host 4 sites on this shared server it wound up taking down all 4 sites.

The ISP has temporarily disabled the rule, but I don’t want to do this long term in case of a real attack. Is this a problem with Goodreviews, or with the Goodreads API itself?

    Thanks.

  • Hi karcher,

I apologize for the delay in responding. I’m just seeing this now.

Are you sure you’ve got the right plugin? This plugin does not add any login features and does not support submission of reviews from the frontend. Are you looking for this similarly named plugin?
