Slow blog transfer from blogger

I’m transferring a blog from blogger to WordPress. Everything is set up and I’ve started the transfer. This blog is about 3,000 posts and 3,000+ comments. I know this will take a while, but it seems to only be allowing 5 or 10 posts to be transferred every time I click on the import button. I’ve been messing around with this for two days trying to get it to transfer. I’m up to 195. The only way I can get it to load more is to refresh the site and click import again.

I went into the wp-config.ftp file and increased the WP memory limit cap to 96mb. I can’t use the file converter because the blog is too big.

Any ideas? This is driving me crazy. I’d include a link to the site, but it wouldn’t help at all.
