Post Excerpts

Hi Julia,

It looks like the WP.com version of Editor doesn’t have the excerpts like you see on the WP.org (downloadable) version. I’m not sure why they’ve removed that, but I will inquire and see what I can find out.

Can you be more specific about your post format question? What do you mean they appear with the post format?

What I meant for the post format, is on the left side of the post text, where the excerpt should be, I get the post format “image” “quote”or “aside” with a little icon each time.

Thanks for the clarification, Julia. It looks like that’s something they’ve also added on the WP.com version that isn’t on the WP.org version. I’ll inquire about this as well, but in the mean time, you can hide this with a little CSS. You should be able to add this in your WP.com theme customizer.

Is there any hope to have on the excerpts coming back to the .com version?

It’s hard to say. I originally developed the Editor theme, but they modified it when they put it on WP.com. They took certain liberties with the theme, and I’m not sure if they’ll change it back. I’ll reach out to them, but it could take a while for them to respond and/or implement. I’ll report back what I find out!
