[BUG] WordPress Bulk Edit & Translated Tags

  • Hello,

    Polylang version used: v1.6.5

    I do not know if this bug is due to WordPress or to Polylang but:

    I edited several posts (here for me custom post_type “video”) with the official function WordPress. (I don’t use plugins, see this screenshot)

    I saw with horror that the bulk edition have changed all tags of each of my posts in FRENCH ONLY!

    My tags are translated one by one with Polylang, and also that they have the same name. I think bulk publishing WordPress, does not differentiate a French or an English tag if the tag has the same name …

    Of course, the slugs are different for ALL translated tags:

    In French:
    Name: Mahatma Gandhi
    Slug: mahatma-gandhi

    In English:
    Name: Mahatma Gandhi
    Slug: mahatma-gandhi-profile

    Please I need help, because I can not lose even for many hours, return the tags to French for French posts, and return the tags to English for English posts … especially if I know then the same bug happen! ??

    Hi!

    I did not forecasted that someone would try to bulk edit posts in several languages (except to change the language).

    Also in my initial tests, I was not able to reproduce the issue. The fact is the taxonomies synchronization was active in Polylang settings.

    So I suggest that either you don’t bulk edit posts in several languages or you synchronize taxonomies between translations.

    I will look how I can improve this in the future (bulk editing posts in several languages without taxonomies synchronization).

    Thank you Chouby for this relevant answer.

    Note that I do not have to redo the insertion of tags for each post, simply re-save each post was enough.

    Thank you for the clarification concerning the need for synchronization, and yes I will no longer use WordPress bulk editing.
