Hi, I am new to WordPress, and trying to work out if I can manage two distinct websites with two distinct domains from one WordPress account?

For example, if I would like to have one website/blog about being a dog groomer at: doggroomer.co.uk, and a completely different website/blog about being a skydiver at: skydiver.co.uk, can I do this? And if so, can I manage them as two distinct entities? And can website users see them as two distinct entities (without them appearing as subdomains / subdirectories of a single domain in the URL bar)?

I have had a good look at past posts but it’s still not clear to me if / how this is possible.

I am very non-techie, so when faced with the choice of subdomains or subdirectories in my network setup page, I have no idea which to choose or if either will ever be able to help me achieve the above.

PS – I haven’t set up a website yet, as would like to understand this issue before I do

Any help gratefully received. Many thanks in advance ??

    The short answer is yes.

The long answer depends on what your hosting plan allows.

You could either have them in sub directories, or use subdomains (if your plan allows that) or you could use different domains (if your plan allows for addon domains.)

    So it could be:

    1. mydomain.com/doggroomer & mydomain.com/skydiver

    or

    2. doggroomer.mydomain.com & skydiver.mydomain.com

    or

    3. doggroomer.com & skydiver.com

The best option would be 3. Check with your host to see if you can have an addon domain.

For option 3 you can set up a multisite with subdirectories and after that you have to install the WordPress MU Domain Mapping plug-in.
