Yeah I knew he uses Gallery, and I have a working install on my webserver, I am trying to integrate that with WP.

Sweet…I’ve actually been looking for some new photo gallery software and have found 2 very similar ones that I really like, but they don’t quite have enough features yet. They don’t use any tables (Gallery loves them!) and are all CSS based…

If you could combine the features of Menalto Gallery (I especially like the new java thingy of Menalto that displays fullscreen slideshows) and the taxonomy of WP, your image gallery would be better than any other out there.

I will look into both of those now…

I have emailed Matt, but I dont think he is going to give away his css or scripts ! So I think it is going to have to be a build from scratch or fork something else job… I have had a look at both links that were posted above, and they both look good.

Have you taken a look at the Coppermine plugin? I know that Coppermine blows, but it might be the next best thing to a Menalto Gallery and WordPress integration.

Ok – I think that this is all I am going to be needing here.

It prodived a neat way to refer to a link back to a Gallery image. This way, at least for the time being, we could easily reference the images in our Gallery albums, without the complexity of building upload, thumbnail creation tools.
All it really neads then is some nice CSS for the Gallery project.

Btw, the first public release of iPAP is now on my site, for those who might want to try it out.
