    Hello. I’ve read the 404 links here and cannot seem to find the answer to my 404 issue.

    When you enter your name and email on the site it takes you to a 404 Error page. I’ve checked everything which seems to be correct and am trying to troubleshoot to find out why it’s not working…

    In the form action field on the widget I have: kristysimchick.us5.list-manage.com/subscribe/post?u=8b535531c7&id=690adf34e9

    In the name field I have: FNAME and have EMAIL in the email field.

    Might you be able to take a look at my site and help me trouble shoot?

    Many thanks for your assistance!

    Howdy!

    Can you add https:// or https:// (whichever it was in the original code)?

    As it is, the relative URL (without the http) is processed by the browser as a file on your own site.

    Cheers!

    Hi Brandon! Thanks for your response! I tried both, neither worked.. below is the original code from Mailchimp. Do I need to have MailPoet connected to it?

    <!– Begin MailChimp Signup Form –>
    <link href=”//cdn-images.mailchimp.com/embedcode/classic-081711.css” rel=”stylesheet” type=”text/css”>
    <style type=”text/css”>
    #mc_embed_signup{background:#fff; clear:left; font:14px Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif; }
    /* Add your own MailChimp form style overrides in your site stylesheet or in this style block.
    We recommend moving this block and the preceding CSS link to the HEAD of your HTML file. */
    </style>
    <div id=”mc_embed_signup”>
    <form action=”//kristysimchick.us5.list-manage.com/subscribe/post?u=8b535531c7&id=690adf34e9″ method=”post” id=”mc-embedded-subscribe-form” name=”mc-embedded-subscribe-form” class=”validate” target=”_blank” novalidate>

    Including //kristysimchick.us5.list-manage.com/subscribe/post?u=8b535531c7&id=690adf34e9 including the double slashes should work.

    That tells the browser to either use http or https based on whatever your site is using.

    Thanks Brandon – that did not work either. Is there something I’m missing?

    What else might be the issue here?

    Do I have to be connected to MailPoet as well?

    I’m really at a loss here….

    Thank you for your patience and help!

    It is working for me now, seeing the https:// in the form code. Perhaps some caching is still showing you the old version?

    MailPoet is unrelated and not needed for MailChimp (on the todo list to make that clearer).

    What do you mean it’s working for you now? You were able to successfully sign up for my mailing list? I’m still getting an error message…

    How can I tell if caching is showing in the old version?

    Thank you for clarifying about MailPoet! ??

    I so appreciate your help. Would really like to figure this out and get it functioning properly…

    Yes, I was taken the MailChimp confirmation page.

    Entering an e-mail here: https://cloudup.com/cCnCsQy7uJx
    Clicking submit takes me to: https://cloudup.com/c8X66xjZy4Q

    I’m not sure of your setup. One relatively simple way is to use a different browser or restart your browser.
