Did not you notice Language Switching Buttons on Woocommerce configuration pages? Did you actually populated multilingual content in the products?

    Thanks for your reply!
Well I translated my products, yes, but I thought the plugin was going to translate the shop itself, like “add to cart” or “checkout”?
I noticed Language Switching buttons on the pages to add a product, but I haven’t seen any option in the WooCommerce settings.

    Thanks for your help,

That kind of buttons are woocommerce related so it means you need to install the woocommerce translation for each language you use and also check that those buttons are not managed by your theme as they are in mine.
In such a case you must create manually your theme .po/.mo language files.

The plugin let you switch and manually translates all kind of posts, pages, category, etc but not woocommerce or theme inner code like cart button etc.

I wish this can help you

    Thanks Angelo!

I actually managed to find the .po and .mo files already translated in French on github (I was about to do it manually haha).
I guess I didn’t actually understand what the plugin was doing then, well the good thing is that now everything is up and running! Thanks very much for your help!

I’m happy that you succeeded in it.
Yes, sometimes it’s hard to understand what a plugin does.
In this case a multilingual plugin is used to switch between different languages but of course these languages information must be in the website otherwise it’s impossible for the plugin to work.

At beginning 3 years ago I banged my head against the wall to understand all these tricks, so I’m glad I helped you.
Please, remember that when you install another language you must download the related woocommerce version and create/download the new .mo/.po file of the theme. Besides, anytime update woocommerce also the language transaltion must be updated and you will get a warning from the plugin but not for the theme that have to check by yourself or asking the author.

I know all these because I’m translating in Italian several themes including the one I’m using.

Feel free to ask when you need something maybe we can help you.
    Bye.

@monsterpietoys Where should I upload the mo and po files?

If you refers to your theme .mo/.po you have to add it in the theme language folder. It means that you have to access your site via FTP or cpanel and set the mo/po files in the theme language folder.

I’ve uploaded the mo and po files to the child theme language folder (lang folder) downloaded from github https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce-language-packs/tree/master/packages but it doesn’t switch the language/woocommerce texts https://success.susansiow.com/zh/product/test/.

    Please help, thank you!

Please, try to write in plain English with subject, verb and complement it would be easier to understand your problem.

You have a problem with woocommerce than if you make mind understand by yourself that you should put in woocommerce language folder and not theme language.
Maybe this is useful to yo.

    Hi ,

I installed woocommerce qtranslate-x but it is not translated for check out page , add to cart page and so on. I can’t find the option under woocommerce configuration setting .

    pls help ! thanks

I am having the same issues.
    see the link below https://www.juju-lingerie.com/cart/

I ve read every forum entry and looked and the po files to identify if some strings are missing. and indeed some are and some are not missing but still not translated. I looked at woocommerce-admin-de.po and woocomerce-de.po.

I also tried to save the existing files in
    themes/socute-child/woocommerce_2.3.x/languages
    and also in
plugins/woocommerce/includes and some others. I even created a language folder which was not existing in those folders.

I ve been trying to fix this language problem in my cart and checkout for 2 weeks now and am devastated. I have a kickstarter campaign running right now and therefore the correct running of the plugin is mega important to me. Please help

Yes I do work with q translate x
    And q translate x & woocommerCe
Both plugins are activated. Hat s why I was able so far to translate some buttons and request forms manual in my back end either using the language switcher or editing texts by using [:EN][:DE][:]
But the checkout and cart can’t be translated as shown in my link above.
We’re exactly do I have to put my .po and mo files via tfp?
    I was …/plugin/woocommerce/includes correct?
Was it correct to create a new folder called language and to transport existing po mo files in there? Is there someone who could help me editing if I forwarded the ftp server data?

For the little I understand you have a similar problem I got at beginning.
Some buttons like Add to Cart belongs to theme and not to woocomerce plugin.
So check if in the .po file of your theme they are translated or if there’s a theme option that let you choose the language word for German
If some tags are not correctly displayed try to write it in backend using quicktags like [:en]house [:de]hus more I cannot help.

No, that s not correct. The “add to cart” is translated. The “checkout” process is not translated. so say for instance u put a product into the basket and proceed to checkout and pay. Nothing is translated there https://www.juju-lingerie.com/cart

This is not the theme. It is woocommerce indeed.

After two weeks of trying to fix the checkout translation am clueless. And this is akward because people, except of a few, seem to have the same issues with the translation of the checkout. Why is there no helpful thread to be found online. Or why has this bug not been fixed yet??

I cannot help anymore. This could be fixed by woocommerce paid support I guess. My developing knowledge is limited to previous tips.
