I am developing a site through godaddy’s managed wordpress site builder. I have bought and installed the Genesis Framework successfully and did not have a problem. However, I am trying to install “Genesis Accessible” and am not having such an easy experience.

I successfully downloaded the Leiden child theme (as far as I know). But when I go to download the Genesis Accessible file I repeatedly get the error message

“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”

I have looked at other threads and have tried zipping and unzipping and downloading different versions but it is still not installing.

Help with this issue is appreciated! I hope it’s a quick fix.

    Hi mancuso3,
I don’t know godaddy’s managed wordpress site builder but can you try/check the following:

The plugin Genesis Accessible should be in the plugin directory (wp-content/plugins)
The theme Leiden should be in the theme directory (wp-content/themes)

    Then:

    1. Deactivate the plugin Genesis Accessible
    2. Activate the Genesis Framework itself as theme
    3. Then activate the plugin Genesis Accessible
    4. Then activate the Leiden theme

    Does this work?

Rian- Thank you so much! I’m generally new to wordpress so I was trying to download Genesis Accessible as a theme and not a plug in. Looking at it now I see the difference. I uploaded it as a plug in and it’s working!

Thanks again for your help and fast response ??
