    Hi,

For now the plugin is not able to index content of the attached files unfortunately. It will only index the name of the attachment.

In last version we fixed a bug with the indexing of attachment. They now appear are results in the results pages, independently from the posts they belong to (if the checkbox “Attachment” was checked in the Index Settings).

    Best regards,
    Alexandre

    Hello,

Yes, as I said in my previous post, this plugin is not able to extract the content of the attached files unfortunately.

This is a feature you could develop in your theme or in a custom plugin using the hooks provided by the plugin: https://www.opensearchserver.com/documentation/plugins/wordpress.md

You could rely on these APIs for example: https://www.opensearchserver.com/documentation/api_v2/parsers/README.md

    Hi,

We were able to include Parser support in a new version of the plugin. This new version will be released soon. However this feature will need OpenSearchServer V1.5.11 to work. This version of OpenSearchServer should be released this week.

I will keep you informed when it is available so you can test this new feature.

    Best regards,
    Alexandre

    Hi,

We just released OpenSearchServer version 1.5.11 and a new version of this plugin as well.

Could you test it and tell me if it suits your needs?

    Hi,

We made some change on the PDF parser today. Would you be able to test the last build? https://www.open-search-server.com/ftp/OpenSearchServer_1.5/build-1.5-b931/

    Hi,
it works perfectly, OSS is indexing protected files (PDF) & MS office ones too! it’s amazing!!
is there any way to index comments and FAQ fields by adding it to custom fields in schema of some where else?
    Thank you,
    Oussema

    Hi,

The plugin can not index comments. What do you mean exactly by FAQ fields?

You could however work on some custom PHP code to specifically index some more data using the hooks provided by the plugin. You could create some new fields in the schema of the index when the index is created, give those fields values when content is added or changed, etc. Please see this page: https://www.opensearchserver.com/documentation/plugins/wordpress.md
