I logged in after about 6 months. Yes, I know… I’m in the process of re-writing the site in a “sandbox”.

Nonetheless – I logged in to check a plugin and Lo!
While I see the WP menu items on the left and can click them, I have a blank white screen for everything except about.php. It is reading those menu files because I can see it in the browser address bar.

Not even a Logout unless I go to about.php

    Thanks.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Apologies for the late response.

I did it via FTP (renamed Plugins folder to Plugins.hold). Then logged in to the live site via WP again and still nothing.

Ok, how about resetting the theme?

I don’t have access to the dashboard remember?

So by ‘reset’ do you mean reload the theme through FTP?
Sorry, I’m comfortable with FTP, css and html but WP newbie.

Yes, via FTP, exactly as directed in my first reply.

The site has been up for 4 years. 1 plugin. No changes for 6 months – except for WP updates which haven’t been applied.

Since a new site will be deployed in a week or two and this is still running, I think I’m going to leave it alone.

    Thanks anyway.

    You’re welcome!

Please update as soon as you can, 3.3.1 has several publicly known security vulnerabilities.
