Can the genericon CSS be turned off?

    Not in the plugin. You’d either have to disable all CSS by unregistering the Book Review Library stylesheet, or override/change the genericon CSS being added by Book Review Library in a custom CSS file (or in Jetpack CSS/My Custom CSS). Sorry about that, I’ll make sure it gets resolved in the next update.
