Upgrade old site (3.1) to latest version of WP

    I have an old site that is starting to have issues and needs to be upgraded from 3.1. The problem is, I did a lot of editing to the theme without first creating a child theme.

    I am concerned that if I go through the upgrade process I will lose changes I made to the theme.

    The site is at sweetlucysbakery.com. You will see some strange things showing up on the page (“IM CONTENT!”, “726c44e5b573700a55d76d4e8dde9044”), which I think is being caused by the DM Albums plugin (which I am not using, but if I disable it, it breaks the site).

    Any help/suggestions is greatly appreciated.
