A few weeks ago, I noticed that the meta description that was appearing for my home page on Google was not the same one that I set in WordPress SEO. Instead, it just shows the first bit of text that appears on my page.

My home page just shows all of my blog posts, if that makes any difference. It’s not a static page

I’ve been researching this issue and see there are a lot of people with this same issue. To bad Yoast won’t chime in for a fix. Time to spread the word about using another SEO plugin.

Are you looking at your description on google right after you change it? Google needs to reindex your site after you change your description, it doesn’t show up immediately.

No. After I make changes or simply add the SEO content it does not save it. Does it for posts but not on pages. So… I cannot put any SEO on my homepage. Frustrating.

I’m having similar issues. I’m trying to update the SEO title and meta description on my pages, but every time I save a draft or update, the text fields revert to my previous entries.

Very strange, and I was hoping to find some answers here, but just seems that more people are having this problem as well.

Same issue here. I write and save meta description and focus keyword and it will never save. The description box always goes blank after I update the page and the default meta description is applied (first sentence of my website)
