can't access my WP website!

Can you post the first 20 lines of functions.php here, that way we can see where you’ve made a typo.

yes i did make a change in functions.php once I entered some snippets, this happened!

i copy/pasted THIS into function.php

You have added CSS code to a PHP file. Those are two different languages and can’t be mixed up.

Remove the code you’ve added in functions.php to get the site up and running again.

If you’re a self-proclaimed beginner, it’s best not to mess with any PHP files. ??

1. Using FTP or whatever file management tools your host has provided you with navigate to the /home/content/p3pnexwpnas03_data02/18/2320918/html/wp-content/themes/listify-child/ directory.
2. Once there locate and rename the functions.php file to functions.php-old. Just that one file and nothing else.
3. Try and re-login to your WordPress dashboard.

If you do not have the file access (this does not need a working WordPress dashboard) then perhaps your host provider can assist you.

Do you remember how you inserted the code snippets in the first place? Remove them the way you inserted them.

Yes. At the moment your WordPress dashboard will not work. You have to get to that damaged functions.php file outiside of the WordPress dashboard. Your WordPress dashboard is broken till you fix that file.

It’s a quick fix but you need file management outside of WordPress to do it. If you don’t have that level of access then your host provider may be able to assist you.

@jan it worked! cheers! I used Cyberduck to change the functions.php file to functions.php-old.

If it doesn’t work after you change it then just rename the file again and see if you can restore an old copy of that file prior to your editing it.
