My website got hacked, Yea! for Updrafts.

In attending to this issue, I noticed I have 50+ existing backup files. Am I suppose to have that many?

I was looking for a way to set an expiration – I see :retain this many scheduled backups – which is currently set to 2. Not sure this is the # of backups to hold onto?

Aside that I looked for a way to bulk delete them. I only see that i can delete one at a time.

    Please advise.

    Hi,

Is that backup files, or backup sets? UpdraftPlus splits each backup into multiple archives, and how many depends on how big your site is. The files in each set will share a common 12-digital hexadecimal code in the filenames.

But, 50 sounds a lot for only 2 backup sets, unless your site is gigantic. Please can you provide a link to your log file for your most recent backup? (You can download it from the “Existing Backups” tab of your UpdraftPlus settings page). It’ll be too long to paste into the forum here, but you can download it to your computer, and share it with Dropbox, or paste it in pastebin.com, or any similar service, and post the link here.

The best way to bulk-delete depends on the exact situation – the log file will help me advise on this.

    Best wishes,
    David

Today for first time, the extra’s were deleted.

I managed to clean up the worst of the hack, so that may have been the culprit.

I will continue monitoring for a little while to see if it reoccurs.
