Slideshow: slow webpage loading with a lot of images

    I made a new gallery with about 40 images. On my homepage I added this gallery as a slideshow in a widget. But when you go to the site for the first time, the loading time of the site is very long. I used a onlie tool to test my site and it seems ALL those 40 images are loaded. I tougth only the thumbs that are shown random are loaded, but even all the big (average 250Kb) pictures are loaded/downloaded/cached.

    Can this setting be changed? As my page is very slow now. Or any other tips?

    @jeegee – The NextGEN Basic Slideshow will load all of the images in the display, if you are using a random selection of images it will increase the load time as those images are randomly selected first.
