Wrong VAT number clears all fields

  • Hi,

    Taking this plugin and the Taxamo service for a first spin, I find that when I fill out Billing information and enter an invalid VAT number, the checkout page comes back with ALL fields cleared and no clear message about the reason. The error message about wrong VAT number is only visible at the bottom of the page.

    Could it be changed so that:
    1. all other fields are not cleared so the buyer does not have to fill out everything again after one little type-o in the VAT number;
    2. the error message about the VAT number being incorrect is shown at the top of the page or at least ABOVE the form so it is clear to the buyer why he/she is not flowing through checkout…

    I fear these issues will be costing me sales in the EU ??

  • I see this is still not resolved in the latest version and this is costing me money! The number of abandoned carts has gone up tenfold!!!

    For example when a customer from France fills out the billing info but leaves the field Billing State/Provence because that is not something that has any meaning in respects to billing or vat within that country, then the form comes back empty and the customer either tries again irritated or goes away all together.

    In both cases, I’m not happy either…
