Many PHP Processes created periodically

  • I observed a daily spike in our resources. This happen every night at the same time. As I monitor it, a lot of php and apache processes was created during spike:

    /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -k start -DSSL
    /usr/bin/php (public_html directory)

    I installed Advanced Cron Manager. Other than wordfence jobs, I saw the ff:
    wp_version_check
    wp_update_plugins
    wp_update_themes

    Plugins I used:
    Advanced Cron Manager
    Cloudflare
    Custom Permalinks
    Fast Secure Contact Form
    kk Star Ratings
    Report Content
    ShareThis
    Wordfence Security

    Caching used is Wordfence Falcon Engine.

    What are the “possible” causes of the increase in resources daily?
