• Hey guys, I know that this question has been asked before, but the links to ssdesigninteractive all lead to 404s now. What I have been doing is integrating wordpress into my site and I think it looks pretty clean. (churchlighting.biz) I need to integrate the flash nav (buttons) into the sidebar to match the rest of the site and everything I have tried has been unsuccessful. Can anyone give me a hand integrating the flash nav into the sidebar? Thanks in advance!

  • It would be easier if you integrate your site into WordPress. Check out Andy Roddick, his site is built out of flash with WordPress as the backend.

Yeah, that’s kind of what I’ve done. I used the default Kubrick theme, and deleted all the Kubrick images and added the header image to match my site. So I just need to add the flash navigation to the sidebar. I’ll check out Andy’s blog. Thanks.

Just in case you don’t already know:
From a SEO point of view it is a bad idea to use falsh for navigation. Google can’t read inside flash files and therefore will not find (all) you pages. You’re site will have more trouble showing up in google searchresults.
Styling your site with css (and javascript) might be a better idea. The same goes for using foto’s as links.

If I understand you correctly, you could try something with php’s GD library and convert the text to imagebuttons.

    best regards,
