Stolen Content

There’s two things to this:

1) If the site is run by WordPress.com (is hosted by WordPress.com) then you’re on the wrong forum. This is www.remarpro.com. You need to check wordpress.COM.

2) If it’s a person who’s hosting their own site, and has htier own installation of WordPress (meaning, NOT a wordpress.COM site), then you need to take it up with the person who’s stolen your content. WordPress has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with what someone else does with their blog. Coming to us to expect us to do something is like going to Smith & Wesson because some guy murdered your dog with one of their guns. They can’t do anything about it, and neither can we.

I didn’t realize there is a difference between wordpress.com and www.remarpro.com.
Not that it matters, but I believe the blog is www.remarpro.com (that’s the page I got when I clicked on the wordpress button on the bottom of the page.)
As I said, there is no contact info for the person behind the blog.
Guess I’ll try again going through their comments, though earlier it wasn’t even letting me do that.

russian — and they hotlinked one of your images so the very least you should do is some image swapping OR fix it so they cant hotlink your images. Not only have they stolen your content, but every clickthrough to that post steals your bandwidth. It’s the gift that keeps giving.

Thank you so much for the tips–I’ve learned my lesson and will be much more careful in the future about protecting my content.

Um…no one suggested you did. I was just providing an answer for you. If the letters in caps are what threw you off, I only did that to make them more pronounced so you’d notice the difference.

I said www.remarpro.com can’t do anything about it because wordpress only provides the program, and nothing else. What the end user does with it is the end user’s responsibility.

If someone is stealing from you, then you need to either contact them, or contact their hosting provider. Most hosts (if not all) have clauses in their terms of service that will shut down a blog for any hint of copyright infringement. If you can’t get the site owner, then you need to contact their host and let them know what’s going on.

Gotta admit that 99% of the time, I just suggest contacting the webhost and skipping direct contact. if they’re stealing content from you, chances are they’re stealing content from someone else or doing something else that they shouldn’t.

Also seems like more and more these content scrappers are bigger outfits or even webhosts themselves.
