Hello Shaynald,
Firstly sorry for the delay in answering your post – secondly thank you for help this user .
Shaynald just a heads up that we released major feature version yesterday that introduces new 1 and 2 column layout options for the Item post. This is set Globally but can be over ridden via the item post meta for any single item post.
You need to update your theme over ride templates – see the change log for more details on that. Let me know if you have any questions about that.
We added that feature because in our client work (websites) we saw that when the post content area was less than 780px the item post would always load 2 Column and once loaded break down to a single column – which was not an idea UI. (780px was the media break point and still applies with 2 Column layout). So now if the content on a site we are making is less than 780px we can set it to 1 Column and is loads beautifully.
We are working on a two new Add-on (extension) plugins which we hope to released over the coming weeks. Both are features that we believe that will allow user to greatly enhance the Portfolio for their sites and or client work. They are –
1. a3 Portfolio Shortcodes – This plugin will allow admins to add the Portfolio by shortcode or php tag, Portfolio category shortcode, Portfolio tag shortcode, single item shortcode with the option of displaying as a card (with expander) in post content or the item post itself.
This plugin will allow you to in part make this
‘I would like to display the most recent portfolio entries on my home page.‘
Although it would not have a display ‘most recent’ filter – it is a good suggestion and will take a look at how that might be done.
2. a3 Portfolio Item Switcher – This plugin when installed will enable front end portfolio users to scroll to the next or previous item within the open expander which makes scrolling through the portfolio items a very dynamic and interesting UX. In mobiles the Next – Previous Item feature makes the portfolio behave more like a mobile app than a website application.
Also in the next couple of weeks we will be creating a public Github repository for the a3 portfolio – we are hoping that other developers might get involved and contribute to the code – as well as start to build child plugins that add features to the portfolio.
Just an update of our dev roadmap for the plugin for you and thanks for your support. Steve
