WP Media Player Not Working & Showing NaN:NaN on Time (Safari)

    We have a website, https://www.RecoverySpeakers.com, that we recently moved servers (hosting audio files on a separate server than the actual site – because of large amount of audio files).

    OUR PROBLEM
    The media player will show NaN:NaN in the time window on the wordpress default media player when being used on Safari and the audio file will restart once you’re 5-10 minutes into the file.

    TEMPORARY FIX
    We can temporarily fix the issue by playing the specific audio file on a different browser and then going back to it on Safari (solution only lasts less than 24hrs).

    Any suggestions on troubleshooting the issue?

    Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    If none of those resolve the issue, what kind of media file is it?

    This is something I’m troubleshooting as well, and it appears to be peculiar to how the Safari browser handles media files. There is some explanation here in Appendix A: https://mobiforge.com/design-development/content-delivery-mobile-devices, but I haven’t gotten the function code there to work. And I’d rather not use a hand-coded script with every media file. So I’m still searching for an acceptable solution…

    Again, this is only a problem in the Safari browser and appears to be cross platform, affecting Safari on Mac OS as well as iOS. I don’t recall if it also affects Safari for Windows.
