Validation filters doesn't work after update

Hello,
Have something changed with the validation filters since last update? On 4.0.1 I could use the wpcf7_validate_email filter to prevent duplication of sent e-mails, but on this version it doesn’t work. I’ve downgraded to 4.0.1 again and now it works as usual.
