Hi, I installed the plugin and all working as it should, however I purposely have not yet added label/names to the checkout behavior steps although they are showing in my reports as step 1, 2 & 3

What I am desperate to know is what event is triggered by the plugin and corresponds to each step.

So for example is step 1 triggered when they click “add to basket” button or is it when they click “view cart” button or is it when they click “goto checkout” button? Can you see my confusion.

Can you please identify what triggers each “step” (1,2,& 3 please) as reported in google.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Nigel,

    Thank you for contacting us.

We have checked your store and we recommend you to label your check out steps as below:

    • Step 1 : Checkout View
    • Step 2 : Billing Address
    • Step 3 : Proceed To Paypal

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers! ??

Hi thanks for the quick reply, however I’m still a little confused (sorry I’m not a moron honestly!)

I understand step 1 is triggered by clicking the “proceed to checkout button which brings up the checkout view page… ok so far

Where I get confused is the checkout page has the billing/shipping info on AND the “Proceed to paypal” button.

If clicking the “Proceed to paypal” is step 3, what actually triggers step 2 as no user confirmation of completing their details is required on the checkout page only the “proceed to paypal button”

Just to clarify Google is showing all 3 steps being completed im just unsure what is actually triggering step 2

    Sorry

    Nigel

    Hi Nigel,

Here is the sequence in which checkout steps fire:

    • Step 1: When user lands on checkout Page (Checkout View)
    • Step 2: When user focuses on billing form field called “First Name” (Billing Address)
    • Step 3: When user clicks on “Proceed To Paypal” button (Proceed To Paypal)

    Cheers!
