Backslash added before apostrophe in message text

In settings I have an apostrophe in the message to appear in my facebook post (: New Painter’s Note : ). When the link is shared to Facebook via the share link to your blog post method, the output is instead: : New Painter\’s Note :
How can I prevent the backslash from being inserted into the post?
