We are working with a theme, RT Theme 9 (https://rtthemes.com/demo/?theme=rttheme9)
and having an issue with the drop down menus. They display but dont go away when you move off of each menu item.
The theme was purchased by someone we are no longer in contact with and do not have any other information, therefore we are unable to register for support there or contact the theme author because we do not have th purchase code that it asks for in order to register.
The current site is located at https://annepantelas.com/

it’s a commercial theme, you need to address support issues to them.

Did that as well. Their response was they could not provide support and to contact the author, which we are unable to do because <see above>

    so its a complete runaround

    hmm… i thought they’d be a bit more helpful than that…

i’ve taken a look in the <head> section of the site’s code and the jquery looks quite out of date. also, it looks from the theme’s page that it hasn’t been updated since last september.

to rule out any of that as a possible issue can you tell us what version of wordpress you’re using, any other themes you may have installed and what plugins you may have on the site (active and inactive)?

I know, I thought they would have been as well.
Anyway, we are using WordPress 4.1
We have not installed any other themes (however the previous person may have) there are others in the dashboard. I see rt theme9(the one being used), also, rt theme90, twentyeleven, twentytwelve,
    twentythirteen,twentyfourteen,twentfifteen.
    All plugins currently deactivated:
Akismet, Go Daddy Quick Setup, Hello Dolly, Jetpack by WordPress.com, Welcome to WordPress, WordPress Importer, WOW Slider.

Where would I go to update the jquery ?
    Thanks for the assistance ??

see if you can delete the go daddy and welcome to wordpress plugins. refresh the browser and see if that makes any kind of difference.

also, your site’s code says you’re using rt theme90 not theme 9…

    (@solweb)

Yes I think they tried to rename 9 to be 90
because there is no rt theme 90 in existence that we could find.
Here it shows 9 through 18 in the pulldown
    https://rtthemes.com/demo/?theme=rttheme9

are those plugins you mentioned to delete, not needed at all?
would we be able to get them back if needed? or are they installed by go daddy?

you shouldn’t need either of those two plugins, wordpress should work perfectly well without them.

the absolute simplest solution to all of this that i can recommend is use another theme that you own or at the very least have direct access to for exactly these kind of problems.

Was able to change the js file to use the older version that the demo is using
    so changed 1.11.1 ti 1.4.2
    working now
    thanks
