black directional boxes appearing on wrong pages

I have little black boxes with arrows in them which appear properly on the post pages. Here is an example of a page where the black directional boxes work perfectly.

But, I also these same black boxes which appear on pages where they are not wanted or needed, and they do not work — they do not go anywhere. Here is an example of such a page:

I have noticed that the URL looks different as well — instead of naming the picture, you get:

?attachment_id=93

And at the bottom of every one of these pages with the incorrect directional boxes, it says, “comments are closed.”

I have been able to get rid of some of these, one at a time, by deleting the image and re-entering it. But, is there a faster way? I have over a hundred images in the website.
