Confirmation page 404 Not found

Do you get 404 after clicking on a link in the email? if so you may just need to try resaving the permalinks.

I only see the option to update every post address – which would essentially break links to the content I have already. Is there a way to update just the about me page so that it would work with this?

No, you have to save them all. It’s very safe. Just don’t change the permalink structure. Just click save.
