Hi! Please bear with me, I have a couple of questions and I’m totally new to wordpress.

My mother made a website for her company on wordpress.com, but she asked me if I could make a better one, and I decided to use www.remarpro.com.
I have finished the website more or less, but I don’t understand how to publish it (it’s on localhost now). Do I have to buy a webhost like Bluehost? My mom already bought a domain from wordpress.com, and she wants to use that one on the new website that I made, and I simply don’t understand how to get it live.

I have seen this (https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org), but I don’t want to move the .com blog-content to the .org one, I just want the domain.

Is there anyone who knows if it’s possible, and how to do it?
I’d really appreciate any help I could get.

To use anything from www.remarpro.com, yes, you will.

You can use your wordpress.com dashboard to re-point that domain to other nameservers such as at BlueHost.

and I simply don’t understand how to get it live.

You would first obtain hosting at the servers of your choice, then install WordPress there and import your content (or database, if you have one), then do your uploads if you already have some the database already knows where to find, then re-point the domain and get everything working.

You can do that as mentioned above.

@leejosepho: Thank you som much, I’ll try this right away!

@wpyogi: As I understood that, won’t that map my new domain to the WP.com one? Because yes, I want that domain, but I don’t want to route people to that blog, as it’s not where the updated content is…

Where is your domain name registered?

The nameservers for that domain name need to be set to Bluehost –

@wpyogi: Thank you, I think I made it work now!

YAY! So glad to hear that :)! You’re probably past the worst of all that mumbo jumbo now.

Yes, at least until you might later decide to add more domains!

    Congrats.
