• After updating WP & NGG, I cannot upload photos to the correct gallery. Gallery directory location hasn’t changed, but instead of uploading into the gallery/home directory, it’s uploading into gallery. I can manually move them, but my thumbnails will not work (or generate). Additionally, I’ve needed to set my directories to “777” permissions.

    – PHP: 5.2.17
    – The mod_rewrite Apache module activated
    – PHP Safe Mode OFF

Does not work in default theme, either.

@nrose05 – What setting are you using under Gallery > Other Options > Image Options for “Where would you like galleries stored?”

/wp-content/gallery/ –> however, I haven’t changed that setting. Is that a new default setting with the latest NGG gallery?

@nrose05 – It is the default installation setting, and should not be changing in current version updates but if you updated from an older version it may have been over-written.

You should be able to change it back to what you were using and going forward the gallery and its images should upload to where you are expect them.

As to the current “moved” galleries, have you tried creating new thumbnails for the ones that are not there/broken?

I have several galleries, and each gallery should be uploading to its respective gallery. So, home to home, landscapes to landscapes, etc. So, I shouldn’t have one “master” directory taking all of the images.

I did try creating new thumbnails after moving the images into the correct gallery, but it said it couldn’t find the image (since it was looking for it in /gallery).

@nrose05 – My bad, I understood that you were using /home/ as your “gallery” main folder. If you are uploading images into the “home” gallery then they should be going into the /wp-content/gallery/home/ folder … is this the problem, the image are not going into the /home/ folder?

right. they’re not going into the home folder. Now, the odd thing, is our other galleries are working just fine and going into their respective gallery-named folders.

@nrose05 – That is very odd, there are no specific “keywords” you cannot use so the /home/ folder name should not be an issue … have you tried using the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options? There might be a crossed up path saved somewhere and using the Reset Option should correct that if it is the case.

    Thanks!

No, that did not work. I’m going to try rebuilding the site with fresh installs to see if that fixes it, unless you have any other ideas.

@nrose05 – Unfortunately, not at the moment … and definitely let us know if rebuilding has the same issues although I would suggest you start with NextGEN Gallery as your first plugin.
