Search does not work & posts cannot be read fully

Hi!
I love the Chocolat theme but I have a few problems with the setup:

1) at the Top right is the search. It doesn’t work. If I configure the search widget, it works fine. I need to configure the search box at the top right or delete it. How to do it?
2) When I publish the recording positions are displayed partially (50 words). When I click on the button READ POST to the page appears blank. So the post could not be read completely. How to configure so that when the button READ POST is clicked, I could read the article fully?
The_content () or the_excerpt ()? How to configure to work? How to configure the_excerpt ()?

Please help.
