Cannot get recent posts to show on home page

I have my site set up to show a specific category in the featured posts slider on my homepage. The posts that show in content area below *should* be most recent posts but for some reason it is showing only a specific category. I’ve tried changing and re-changing all of my option and I just can’t seem to find what is keeping this area from showing recent posts.

My home page is https://www.homespunaesthetic.com You can see I have a “featured” category set for the home page slider and the right sidebar. But then those same posts are filling the content area below that should be showing the most recent posts.

Any insight as to what I can try to get this fixed?
