@airpilot – You can use the Import Folder functionality from under Gallery > Add Gallery / Images … please be aware by default NextGEN Gallery will want to import *all* of the images from the Media Library folder you are working with so every size generated by WordPress will be in the listing of available images in the folder not just the original that was uploaded.

    Thanks, Cais.

Can I open the Media Library, select 10 or 20 images using Ctrl-Click, then import just those images into a gallery? How do I do that, without importing ALL the images in the Library into the gallery?

    Thanks.

@airpilot – You can select a single folder (from the Media Library or other locations for that matter) but you will need to address “duplicates” after importing into NextGEN Gallery. Either mark the extra images as excluded or delete them outright.

We are working on an improved process for Media Library specific imports but do not have anything in place yet.

In our website, all the Media Library content is in the same folder – we have not segregated some images into specific folders. So, as I understand it, if I attempt to populate a gallery from the Media Library, the gallery will have ALL the images (and pdf’s, etc.) that are in the Library?

I was hoping to be able to single out specific images for this import, rather than have to go through the gallery and delete images.

Do you have any timetable for improving the import process from the library to a gallery?

    Thanks again

@airpilot – Not at the moment. All I can say right now is we are looking at how best to implement this sort of functionality in NextGEN Gallery.

    OK, thanks, Cais.

Count me as another customer who would REALLY LIKE to have a convenient way to copy subset of images from a WP Media Library folder or folders to an existing NGGallery. Since this capability isn’t ready yet (and I certainly don’t want to transfer all of my Media Library to a gallery!) I’ll have to live with a static image display of the images I hoped to show in a gallery.

    Thanks, anyway.

@airpilot – Thanks. You are also welcome to share your thoughts and ideas on this import functionality as a Feature Request here as well: https://nextgen-gallery.com/feature-voting/

    Thanks!
