    Hi there,

I am setting up the Eventbrite API for an intranet page. I installed the plugin, the Keyring plugin, and successfully connected the page. The test stated that it worked. I then created the template page. However when I went to the page, it states, “It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.”

I’m not quite sure if that message is coming from Eventbrite, or from my theme. But either way the events aren’t populating.

And I do have the permalinks set to “post name” as well. My theme is Kleo.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kevin,

You say you created a template page; does this mean you assigned the Eventbrite Events template to a page, or you’re developing your own templates for the theme, like here?

If it’s the former, the first thing to check is that you have public events on Eventbrite (by default, the plugin only shows public events). Also make sure the template is still assigned to the page you want to use (testing back and forth between themes can unset that). If you still see no posts, just disconnect from Eventbrite, and connect again (in Tools > Keyring). That will reset any empty cache that might be in play. Let us know how it goes.

I’m having the same problem. Followed your instructions, and it’s not working, and my public event is not showing.

    Hi there,

Yes the former, sorry should have been more specific. I just double checked and our events are private, since they are for employees only. Is there a way to modify the plugin to allow for private events to be listed?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Kevin,

Yes, that option can be filtered. I’ve made a little WordPress plugin that does just that: https://github.com/Automattic/eventbrite-api-display-private-events

Just click Download ZIP, and then upload the ZIP on the Plugins > Add New screen (click “Upload Plugin” at the top).

Let me know how that goes for you.

Hi lunchgirl, can you just start a separate thread, so we can make sure we don’t miss anyone? Thanks!

    That worked perfectly, thanks!

    Hi Kevin,

Great – essentially, the plugin stores results for performance, but if something doesn’t work when it checks, it stores the empty results (because sometimes that’s valid). So reconnecting flushes those stored results.

Glad to hear it’s sorted, enjoy!
