    Hi there –

When trying to connect to Eventbrite using the Eventbrite Services plugin, I’m getting an error message from Eventbrite that says “The application you’re trying to use has made an invalid request to Eventbrite. Please contact the application developer.”

Any ideas what might be going on? I’ve got v1.1.3 of the plugin installed and activated.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Can you provide the steps you are taking to authenticate the application? This usually means the api key generated on eventbrite does not have the correct application url provided.

@csloisel I installed the plugin and made sure it was activated.

On the dashboard, path down to Tools > Eventbrite. This brings up a window with some text that says “Authentication Status” with a clickable link saying “Connect with Eventbrite”.

I click on the link and it redirects me to Eventbrite. When I log in to the site, I get the error message listed above: “The application you’re trying to use has made an invalid request to Eventbrite. Please contact the application developer.”

Sounds like your presumption about API is correct, unless I need to somehow enable this on the Eventbrite side first?

@biggayhudsonvalley Before connecting you will have to go to Tools > Keyring, Add a new connection and select Eventbrite.

There are instructions on that page for getting the API credentials, but if for some reason they don’t make sense or you are having trouble I can help you there.

Afterwords you can do the steps you listed above and connect with Eventbrite.

@csloisel – that did it! Thanks so much for the assist.

Hi! I am going through the same thing and I am having trouble figuring out how to get the correct credentials. I would appreciate any help!

Hi, I’m having a little trouble with this. I had keyring already installed and linked with eventbrite. When I tried to activate Eventbrite Services I got this message:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Keyring_Error in /home/makethri/public_html/wp-content/plugins/eventbrite-services/keyring/keyring.php on line 305

I’ve tried activating/deactivating and deleting and re-installing both plug ins with no success. Any ideas?
