I want to change the message that appears when you omit a required field and hit submit. The current message that appears is “Please fill out this field”. I want to change this to Spanish.

Have searched for this message in the plugin files but was unable to locate it. Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks for your help with this.

That message is probably coming from Google Chrome so it will be translated into Spanish if the users browser is set to Spanish.

You may be misunderstanding my question. In the previous release I could define for every field how the error message would read. In this release I do not see the option to define what that message is.

In previous version after submitting you would see a list of all the required fields that are now missing along with the custom message. Now as soon as you hit submit (assume you leave all required fields blank) a pop up message appears saying “Please fill out this field” only on the first missing field.

Is there a way to customize this message by changing the content? This question has nothing to do with language. If I wanted to change to say “yo fix your error”. How would I do that?

There is no way to customize that message. It is generated by the browser from using HTML5 “required” field attribute.
