• My 4.0.1 site with the Jetpack Custom Post types enabled adds Projects, Project Types, and Project Tags as options to choose in my WordPress menu editor (the theme is Welite a Wrap Bootstrap theme)

A friend’s site running 4.1 and is trying to use the same Portfolio feature. On his site, the related options never show up in the menus. We’ve logged in and out, switched themes and back to re-init them, but his site never shows the Custom Post types in his menu tools (his theme is Baskerville which I doubt is a problem since it has little frills (no overly complex option panels).

What are other things to check for why the menu choices are not enabled? He is seeing little point now in using the custom post types.

The Custom Post Type option should appear in the menu editor as soon as they publish their first project. Like for Pages and Posts, Custom Post Types won’t be available in the editor until you actually publish them.

Could you ask your friend to give it a try, and let me know if it helps?

No show in the menu editor

    Hi Jeremy,

I’m the owner of the site cogdog is talking about. I have the CPT enabled in the Writing settings, I have a detailed Project Type hierarchy established, and I have published a project with multiple project types applied. I also have a tag applied to the project.

Still a no show in the menu editor.

Could you post a screenshot of your menu editor here, so I can compare with how things look like on my end?

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

Could you click on the “Screen Options” tab at the top of the page, and make sure that the different post types are enabled there?

    Jeremy,

That was exactly the problem! Thank you. All is well.
