    Hello,

I have trouble with saving table data. It was working fine and a client recently said he can`t save data in a table anymore.

this is the error I got: Saving failed: AJAX call failed: parsererror – SyntaxError: Unexpected token <. Try again while holding down the “Shift” key.

I tried to disable all other plugins, I also tried with SHIFT nothing works.
My table has 300 rows, which, I suppose, shouldn`t cause any issue. I also tried to create new table and got the same error.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,

just for everybody following this: I’ve been working on this with izorgor and from what we’ve found, this is caused by a PHP syntax error in the wp-admin/admin-ajax.php file.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

I’m getting the same error. The table only has 2 rows. How do I go about fixing the PHP syntax error in the wp-admin/admin-ajax.php file?

    Here’s the link.
echonebraska.com/shows. There’s another table that I’d like to put on that page. It has 4 entries.

    Thanks in advance,
    Andy

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

Such errors are usually caused by interference of other plugins, and not by syntax errors in WordPress itself.
Can you therefore maybe check if this also happens with all other plugins deactivated?

If that doesn’t help, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore please create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias

    @andy

simple reinstall of wordpress solved my issue. Go to a dashboard>updates>Re-Install Now.

    Hope it will help.

    Hi,

yes, that’s a good fix if the file were indeed corrupted. It’s worth a try, as it’s not a whole lot of work.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks guys. I did try deactivating all the plugins and reinstalling WP. Still not working. Tobias, I’ll email you the login info.

    Hi

I have the same problem. Getting the error when saving Table: Saving failed: AJAX call failed: error – Not Found. Try again while holding down the “Shift” key.

I tried update Word Press, deactivate Plugins, nothing helps.

Dont understand where to find your email ??
