How to change the logo dimension and postion ?

Better would be to split the logo in two different part: one in the banner jpg and one in the space above but I’m pretty sure it is not possibile.
So I’m thinking about one workaround solution: try to crate one jpg for the banner with half logo and to put the other half part of it in a right position to match.

Unfortunately I don’t understand what you’re trying to do, maybe provide a screenshot so I can better understand what you’re trying to do?

As for your second question, if this is what you’re referring to as background and you want to add it on home page only https://screencast.com/t/WK6YXZqd, please add the following CSS code in Appearance >> Option Panel >> Quick Start >> Custom CSS:

body.home {
background: #000;
}

In case you’re referring to this part https://screencast.com/t/06A2YwP6kpKk please add this:

.home div#header_container {
background: #000;
}

In both cases you’ll have to replace color hex value with the color of your choice.

Please try adding the following CSS code:

@media (min-width: 1200px) {
img#logo_image {
position: absolute;
left: 20px;
z-index: 9;
}
}

This should place the logo like you wanted on higher resolutions.
