• I placed a blog from Blogger on a subdomain at https://www.dallasmovers.monarcamovers.com and then I linked it to my main page by adding it to my main menu so that customers can click on it from my primary domain https://www.monarcamovers.com. What I want to know is if new content on the subdomain (blog) will also be registered as new content on my primary domain. Also, do visits/links to my subdomain count as visits/links to my primary domain? I would really appreciated some clearing up on this matter.

    Thanks!

  • Anything that’s a sub-domain is treated as a separate domain to the parent domain. Anything on there (content, hits, etc) counts for that domain only.

The reason for this is that everything is a sub-domain of a few top-level domains. As an example, google.com is a “sub-domain” of com, even though there’s no com domain. So, anything that’s sub.domain.com is it’s own little area.

If you need things to be integrated into one domain the best thing to do is use sub-folders instead of sub-domains, eg: morarcamovers.com/dallasmovers/

I put a blog as a subdomain, but I want any update on my blog to count as updates to my main domain. Do you recommend a tutorial that will let me make do the sub-folder for my blog? Also, I currently have my blog with Blogger, and I want to keep it that way. Could I do this if I switched it over to the sub-folders?
