NGG Featured Image not working all of a sudeen

@justinta – What else has changed on your site since the Featured Image functionality appeared to stop working?

Hi Cais,
the only thing that has changed is that I added the WP Total Cache and CloudFlare. I turned both off to test if these were the culprits, but the Featured Image didn’t work even with these items turned off.

@justinta – There are some settings in W3 Total Cache (such as the Minify options) and there are definitely issues with using Cloudflare (especially in W3TC) with NextGEN Gallery.

Those would be the places to look first to sort out this conflict you are seeing.

I’m not sure what the problem is – I use WP Super Cache. I have disabled both the caching plugin and CloudFlare and it doesn’t work. BUT, I also noticed if I try to upload the image to the regular media library, it doesn’t work either….so I have no idea what is going on.

@justinta – Although W3TC is a very good plugin it does not truly clear itself from a site when deactivated … you might need to manually remove the caching “artifacts” it leaves behind to get things sorted out (and possibly clear your browser caches as well).

I am not using W3TC. I hate that plugin, i used it on anther site and it was bad. With my new site, the site i’m writing about I am NOT using W3TC. I wrote that I am using WP Super Cache, it’s a different plugin

I do recognize WP Super Cache is a different plugin but it has similar properties about it as well … sometimes you need to go a bit further than just deactivating it to ensure it is not affecting your site.
