    Hi there good people…
I’ve installed and re-installed the latest version of Portfolio Press. I even went to the theme webpage and download it from there. Nothing, nada.

Nothing I do will get a previous and next post link under my posts. And I’m not talking just about the portfolio type ones. Nope. Even the standard ones.

Check it out on this post: https://www.impossiblepolaroids.com/2015/01/15/teste-2/

I’ve already installed other themes and the previous and next links do appear.

So, any ideas? Anyone can give me an hand on this one?
    Thank you very much.

    Pedro

It doesn’t currently support them because I had a lot of questions about removing them or changing how they function (staying within category, staying within image posts, etc).

However, I’m also getting a lot questions about putting them back. See: https://github.com/devinsays/portfolio-press/issues/98.

I’ll see about addressing this in a future release. If you need these right away, you can use the Portfolio+ version which does include support for them.

    Put them back in please.

The option was added in the last release. Look in the “General” options.

Thank you Devin. It is in fact selected but I am getting the 406 error on this page when I try to save.
    As below:

Any insight you can provide on this?

I’ve never seen a 406 error code before and had to look it up. It looks to be a server configuration issue. This post gives some insight: https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/apache-mod-security-update-how-to-fix-error-406-or-not-acceptable-issue-259

Thank you again Devin. I will try this fix after I hear back from my hosting site. I will let you know what worked for me.

Hello again, so I tried the fixes that you directed me to and none of them work. Also, I heard back from my host and below is the message they reported back to me. I have no clue what they are referring to, do you? I have instructed them to disable the mod security (although I understand that this is not recommended)as I see no other fix.

Thank you for contacting us. I do see it is off in cPanel. Below is the rule you are triggering. I would recommend addressing that with an experienced web developer. Otherwise we can disable mod security for you. We will need to have our systems team do it for you.

[Mon Mar 23 07:52:25 2015] [error] [client 71.174.230.96] ModSecurity: Access denied with code 406 (phase 2). Operator GE matched 1 at TX:brute. Hello, my 406 errors have been resolved through my hosting site. Upon my request they disabled the rule [13052] that this was triggering the 406 error.

All functions are now working on my site including the navigation!
    Phew!

    Lisa

I am freaking out because none of my portfolio category based navigation is functional. I’m not sure which update did this, it just suddenly turned up blank.

site is supah.com, navigation is supposed to appear in the footer and the bar on the right.

anyone have a fix or an explanation? I have the portfolio post type installed. Tired disabling and then enabling and that didn’t work.

There was a bug in 2.6.0 that caused some issues for archives. Are you using the latest now, 2.7.0?

yes. 2.7.0. maybe i should reinstall it? (thank you for responding!)

I activated a different theme, then activated portfolio press. no luck. Do you think it might be a cache issue with the database?
If i upgrade to portfolio+ will that fix it?

It is now a theme option. You’ll need to go to the customizer and select it under the “Portfolio” settings if you wish for it to appear.

    no dice.

Categories used to be functional as it stood. It would appear in the navigation. On the back end it’s still there, but no options for including specific tags (it doesn’t seem to find any tags) and so nothing appears in my navigation.

I could manually create a menu with links, but i already know it won’t work because the pages are not the same as portfolio tags.
