No, Tumblr doesn’t understand categories, only tags. So, at the moment, if you want to organize your incoming content from Tumblr, you’ll need to do so on the Tumblr side by using tags.

Nevertheless, what you’re suggesting would be a pretty nice feature, so I’ve added it to my to-do list, sometime in the future. ??

Ah okay I just wondered if there was a way on the wordpress side of things to define which post they were allocated to. Thank you though. The plugin has made my life a lot easier today so thank you very much!!

Glad it’s been helpful to you so far. ??

Also, for what it’s worth, you can determine which posts were imported by looking at their meta fields. Every crossposted post, including those that have been imported, have a special tumblr_post_id meta field. Although there’s no UI for it in Tumblr Crosspostr at the moment, you can always run a meta query for all posts with that meta key set and which are categorized “uncategorized” to get a list of the imported posts. ??

Just thought I’d follow up to let you know that version 0.7.22 now includes an option to set a category (or several) when sync’ing posts, automatically. Cheers.
