Custom Homepage

Good day,

I have just started exploring the pure-simple theme and really like what I am seeing, Thanks!

I would like to create a custom home page template that includes a slider under the navigation bar, (spanning the full width of the nav bar), is this possible? I added a slider to the home page, but the want to override the 20px padding on the left & right to math the nav bar width. (https://www.taosyogatherapy.com/main/)

I did create a custom template, and add to the page templates folder but it was not showing up- possibly because of page-builder being built into the theme?
