Exporting themes

    I am trying to migrate a site that has some changes in the theme PHP files. When I export the site, I am exporting only the themes and database since I already copied the images over. However, I am not seeing any changes after the import to the new site. I can see that the database made it over, but not the theme pages. I basically changed the home page template. I know I can copy it over manually but, I am disappointed that the change didn’t make it over. Can someone help? Thanks!

    Could you please open the archive and verify whether themes folder is there? If there is such folder that’s should be all of your themes. The next step is to check whether you have enough permissions (like 644 or 755) on your new WordPress site directory. If themes folder is not in the archive I suspect there is an issue with the export functionality and will need additional investigation. Please submit your issue using “Report Issue” button from the plugin in order to keep tracking on the status.

    I figured out the issue. My client is hosting their site on Godaddy and the way Godaddy has their sub-domain set up messes with this plugin’s migration. The sub-domain is located as a sub-directory in the root of the site. So, when I migrated my site using this plugin, it put the physical files in the root instance and updated the DEV instance database. Argh!

    I contacted Godaddy and they weren’t much help. I attempted to create another FTP user with access to only that directory. But, apparently Godaddy doesn’t allow that either. New FTP users only have access to a sub-directory with the same name as the user. Not sure what good that does for anyone. Oh well, another strike for Godaddy. I need to move this site to another Web host asap!
