I installed WordPress using my web host’s one-click all-in-one installation. So how do I *start* WordPress, or run it, or open it – sorry, I don’t even know the term for this.

I know how to *use* WordPress once it’s open, because I’ve already done a local install on my own hard drive (to do a non-online dry run). I created a blog, wrote posts, changed the theme, widgets, all that stuff, in order to test it out. The thing I don’t know is how to open WordPress at my web host.

The documentation here at www.remarpro.com jumps from installing WordPress directly to the things you can do at the Admin screen, skipping over how you *get to* the Admin screen.

  • During the install, you should have gotten an email with a link to your site admin – it’s typically:

    https://example.com/wp-login.php

OK thanks. I can log in now. The problem turned out to be that the web host address I added at my domain registration service took a couple of hours to propagate and until that, wp-login.php was taking me to the generic “this domain has been registered” page. I thought there must be some some other setting I didn’t know about but there isn’t.
