• I have two series on my site. Both were written and scheduled one post at a time, in order, but, upon posting, the numbering was completely messed up. For example, the first post in one series posted as Part 17 despite the fact that there’s not a single other post from that series up yet AND I indicated it was #1 in the series manually. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the numbering to help me troubleshoot why it’s going so horribly wrong.

The one series was small enough that I could just manually reorder them all but the other series is hundreds of scheduled posts throughout the year. Is there a way to force the plugin to number the parts based on publication date? Or is there an easier way to just get it to reset the numbering in bulk?

Part of the problem is that the number it shows in admin seems to have no relationship to what it actually numbers the post. The aforementioned first post in the series was listed as Post #1 in the Posts view in admin but posted as 17. Many of the posts have duplicate numbering as each other. It seems that the problem is that I let the plugin do the numbering instead of inputting it manually but, if this feature doesn’t actually work, why is it available? How do I stop this from happening going forward?

Really hoping someone can help me find a way to fix this mess or at least suggest an alternative plugin that doesn’t have this issue.
