How to make search like lightbox

Hi all,

i have bought X theme but i decide to not use it as it is very slow and it is not very compatible with so many things that i am looking for. however i miss few things from X theme and I wonder if U could make the search like lightbox. please check the link how they have it in the example below:

can we do that by using plugin? if not can you guys Guide me on how to do so ?
